My reasons for choosing your university are numerous.
To begin with, the rating is excellent. To me this means that you have not only among the best teachers and faculty staff but also that you attract the best students. Thus, I will be where I belong, among very motivated students who will try their best to achieve their goals.
Then, the facilities seem to be to my liking and the extra curricular activities you offer are interesting too.

I have been attracted to Harbin ever since I started studying Chinese language. Perhaps because I was born in the northeastern part of my country and most likely because I miss living next to large forests. In my place I am very involved in voluntary work related to preserving the environment and if I get a chance, I will continue in China.

I have studied abroad before and I know that it is very important to mix with people from all nationalities but mine and I am sure very few fellow nationals have applied to Heilongjiang University.

By saying that I am very interested in learning Chinese I am understating it.
In 2018 I took my first lessons with a Mooc organised jointly by the Confucius Institue and the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales.
The following year I attended another Mooc called Ships part one and the year after came the second part of this Mooc organised by XuetangX. Various topics of Chinese culture were covered spanning from the oldest ruins of Chinese boats to the new belt and road initiative.
All the while, I studied language using the Hanban standard course method to prepare HSK 3 (old version) and I am very happy with it but nothing compares to learning in class in imersion. Chinese culture is so dense, so fascinating. I am fond of calligraphy in particular and I am looking forward to learning to paint in the Chinese fashion.

Since I know that what I imagine will undoubtedly be different from what I will actually experience, I do not want to project myself too much but I am sure that I will have a great time studying at your university.

In the classroom I will probably be the oldest student and I do not mind. On the contrary. I think that it is important to show the youth that age is no obstacle to realise one's dream. Mine is to learn Chinese at Heilongjiang University and I really hope I will be given the chance to make my dream come true.

Reasons from Syskov Iakov

Heilongjiang University was recommended to me by my Chinese teacher, who praised it for their teaching methods. More generally, I was told the Mandarin spoken in northern China is closer to standard Mandarin than varieties found in other parts of the country.
